A larger monitor is always better for your flight simulator. If you can't afford a larger monitor at this time, you may want to experiment with an inexpensive fresnel lens screen magnifier.
We have a little fun with fresnel lenses in this video. This was a controlled environment, don't try this at home. Do not light objects on fire with fresnel lenses.
This video also helps you improve the mounting frame for the lens. Materials in this project: 10x round slotted wood screw, 1 1/2" long 3/8" fender washers 1x4 board gray primer paint
