DIY Online WWII Fighter

In online air combat every advantage counts....this Do It Yourself
project can help you.

The Desktop Frame elevates your monitor in front of you like the
front window of your plane.

The keyboard modification is designed for the IL-2 series combat
simulator,

The TrackIR view tracking unit is above and ahead of the monitor for
better reception.

The Floor Unit is a secure stand for your flight controls.  You strap it
to your office chair with these easy Velcro straps.  You can use flight
controls from different manufacturers like Saitek, CH Products and
Logitech.

The lightweight frames are built from plastic PVC pipe and some
wood boards.  Download the DIY videos, instruction manual and
keyboard templates from DIYflightsims.com.

More about the DIY Online WWII Fighter
It is built almost entirely with materials from a hardware stores or
places  like Home Depot or Lowe's home centers

It has several features that can make you a more effective online air
combat fighter in IL2 1946 or other WWII air combat games on
Hyperlobby.

The joystick, throttle and rudder pedals are fastened securely to the
Floor Unit frame, and you can see in the video how it Velcros to your
office chair so it doesn't slip.  You can put controls from any
manufacturer on the Floor Unit like Saitek, CH Product and Logitech.

The Desktop Frame supports your flat panel monitor, so it sits right
in front of your eyes.  The IL2 Keyboard Modification, a standard
keyboard and trackball mouse also attach to the frame.  The
modified keyboard is mounted vertically like the instrument panel of
an airplane and the standard keyboard is horizontal so you can text
your wingmen or taunt your enemies.  A very important feature is
that the TrackIR is mounted above and ahead of the monitor, so you
have much better performance when using the 6 DOF capability of
the TrackIR.
